PP sheets are made from polypropylene resin. Our PP boards are lightweight yet durable, with high resistance to corrosion, acid and alkali, as well as moisture and mold-proof properties. Compared with other traditional furniture accessories (such as wood, solid wood particle boards, ordinary plastic parts, and metal fittings), PP sheets have obvious advantages in performance and practical benefits, which are more in line with the long-term use needs of furniture.
Excellent Performance
In terms of performance advantages, first, durability and stability are far superior. Traditional wood and solid wood particle boards are prone to moisture absorption, swelling, warping, or mold growth in humid environments (such as bedrooms near windows, kitchen cabinets), while PP boards have an extremely low water absorption rate (0.01%-0.03%), which can maintain shape stability for a long time without being affected by humidity. Unlike ordinary plastic accessories that become brittle and easy to crack at low temperatures (below -10℃), PP boards (especially modified ones) can maintain good toughness at -20℃ to 80℃, avoiding damage caused by temperature changes. In addition, compared with metal fittings that are easy to rust and corrode when exposed to water or chemicals (such as cleaning agents), PP boards have strong acid and alkali resistance and salt spray resistance, and will not rust or degrade even in contact with daily cleaning products, significantly extending the service life of furniture.
In terms of additional benefits, safety and environmental protection are more prominent. Traditional furniture accessories like artificial boards often contain formaldehyde and other volatile harmful substances, which may cause long-term harm to human health. However, food-grade PP boards are non-toxic, have no formaldehyde release, and meet strict environmental standards, making them more suitable for furniture in children's rooms, bedrooms, and other spaces that require close contact. Meanwhile, maintenance and cost-effectiveness are more advantageous. The smooth surface of PP boards is not easy to accumulate dust and stains, and can be restored to cleanliness by simply wiping with a damp cloth; even if there are slight scratches or local damages, they can be quickly repaired with hot air welding or special repair agents, without the need for overall replacement of furniture parts (unlike wood parts that are difficult to repair once damaged). In addition, PP boards are lightweight (density about 0.91g/cm³, only 1/8 of steel), which reduces the load on furniture frames and facilitates the transportation and assembly of furniture components, lowering the overall production and installation costs compared to heavy metal accessories or bulky wood parts.
